a note on ticketing—
We strive to keep the barriers of entry low for all of our programming.
Over the last few years, we did a little experiment with our ticketing. We asked you to RSVP for your seats without any payment upfront, while keeping an option for donation available at seat reservation. What we learned—1) with donations received in advance and at events, the average “ticket price” per person was $15. 2) About 20% of folks who reserved a seat without payment did not attend the event.
So we’re changing it up.
All of our concerts will be pay-what-you-wish, and for all of our programming including classes and workshops, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Standard concert pricing:
$40 Feeling Generous
$25 Recommended Price
$15 Mid-Price
$5 Suggested for students and low income
$0 I don’t wish to pay
Ticketing Philosophy:
Pay-what-you-wish-if-you-wish. Our goal is to empower audiences (you) to support in whatever way you can. Whether its showing up, purchasing a ticket, becoming a monthly donor or all of the above! This approach broadens the scope of a patron’s financial impact. Pulling emphasis away from the presentation of art, it prompts audiences to consider the full scope of an artist’s experience–the classes, rehearsals, production meetings, and beyond. We’re curious… what happens when audience members are given the agency to determine the value of their experience and how they exercise that value???
