Choreographic Workshop

Alternating Sundays | 2-5pm

Workshop Dates: 9/10, 9/24, 10/8, 10/22, 11/5, 11/19

Choreographic Workshop is a cohort program for dancemakers to develop works in process. The workshop is facilitated by a member of the Agora Artist’s community. Liz Lerman's Critical Response Process and Gus Solomons Jr's teachings serve as the framework for a fruitful exchange of information.

Over the course of 6 sessions, participants will present and witness ongoing focused performance research. The facilitated discussions allow participants to help each other enrich their artistic processes through group inquisition and analysis. The strength of the program lies in the uniqueness of each participant's perspective and an emphasis of process over product. The workshop is a co-created conversational exchange in which dancemakers challenge each other to deepen their research. Therefore, program participants must be excited and committed to show up and add to the conversation!

We ask that all participants commit the series in order to provide a more robust experience for all involved. The final session is an invited workshop to present the works in their current states (not necessarily finished!) to a small audience.

Registration is first come, first served, and capped at 8. After filling out the registration form, we will confirm your spot in this workshop series and provide more information about what's to come.
